I was excited to receive my practice hand but when I finally got a chance to open my package I noticed it wasn’t new. It was obvious that it had been used already because of the condition of the nailbed. I’ve requested a return and replacement so let’s see how that one comes. Other than that the hand looks great. Disappointed that I still won’t be able to practice yet. A FEW DAYS HAVE PASSED AND I RECEIVED MY “NEW” PRACTICE HAND. I UPLOADED A NEW PICTURE. COMPLETELY DIFFERENT FROM THE FIRST ONE I RECEIVED. THIS ONE IS NEW. THE FIRST ONE WAS USED. THIS ONE CAME IN A BOX NICELY PACKAGED AND IT CAME WITH PRACTICE TIPS. MY FIRST ONE CAME IN A BAG WITH NO TIPS AND THE NAILBEDS WERE DESTROYED. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS ONE. SO I REVISED MY REVIEW AND FROM THE ORIGINAL 1 STAR NOW I’M GIVING IT 5 STARS.A majority of the aspects of this product I am enjoying with one setback- the suction cup refuses to work properly. It will only stand for a few minutes before it topples over which completely defeats the purpose. Other than that, I like the real like texture and size.Just what I needed! Make sure that u clean the area that you are suctioning it to very well or else it will pop off.I have a high end $300 custom silicone hand.I also had a cheap $12 plastic hand from Sally’s.The budget friendly brown plastic robot looking hand.I also have another mid range one from Amazon similar in price to this one.I also now have the pleasure and generous opportunity of checking out and trying this hand.My point? That I can compare these and offer you guys my point of view as to why you should or shouldn’t purchase this over the others.Typically for a product review I point out the things I didn’t like then mention the good things cause I don’t want to hurt the seller’s feelings. I have too much heart. lolBut with this particular hand, I honestly have nothing bad to say. Having the product in hand and being able to view and compare it to its competitors, I am able to really judge. The VERY FIRST THing I noticed was the strength of the metal in the fingers. Its strong and a little muscle is needed to bend them. Since the rods in there are strong, it gives me the impression that the hand itself is well made. Even is the rods are the only high quality materials used. Not saying that’s the case. I am just letting the reader hear me think out loud. But the strength of them really adds points to it.The texture of the hand is classic soft silicone feel. It feels like a real hand if you put your imagination to work, which helps a lot because it’s harder to treat this rough since you try to be soft with humans. Not like Miss plastic sassy hands where she can’t relax, so you call it bad words out loud and then as soon as she finally settles down and stops moving, She wants to act a fool pop off the table mid application onto the floor. ? like “giiirl if you don’t get back up here…..???”…lol…This stays put so no run away hands and because it’s strong it gives you some resistance, so you learn to be gentle which comes in handy when you got a human in front of you.The wells where then nails slide in are deep enough to hold the standard full coverage nail while leaving you plenty of length to work on.If you use the XL tips you can put them in upside down and you’ll have a clean long square nail to work with. Also an advantage of this type of hand. Is that after you’ve done a set, you can scoot the nail out just a bit and you get to work on your fills! That’s nice and all, but how does this compare to the fancy schmancy $300 hand you have? Its actually extremely similar and the more I become familiar with these budget friendly versions, the more stupid I feel and regret purchasing that high end one. Nothing sets this apart from that expensive one i have except the price point really. The silicone feels a little softer and more flexible, like almost thinner. But that’s just me really trying to find something to point out. This one compared to the one I have similar in price and style to this one, actually comes out on top. It has an option to add or remove the clamp. Which the other one does not. This one also has like more of a petite hand and fingers are longer. So your designs will look better on longer fingers.I’m not even gonna compare the cheap sally hand or the plastic robotic hand, that would be a waste of time.I fed recommend this hand and I have nothing bad to say about it really. Its a good affordable hand and its pretty realistic looking.I wish these were around when I treated myself to that high end one.perfect practice hand. Looks very realistic and it's almost like the Red Iguana just that it has a suctioning to it so that it can stick to a table
